Luxeon-LED an Notebook-Netzteil (Schaltungstechnik)

Hallo,

kann ich 6 Luxeon-LED (weiss auf hexagonalem Kühlkörper) in Reihe und 2 Reihen parallel (also 12 LED's) an ein Notebook Netzteil klemmen?
Daten:
-Luxeon: 2,95V / 700mA => 17,7V / 1400mA
-Netzteil: 18-19V / max. 3500mA

Es sollen beide Reihen (je 6 LED's) über zwei Schalter seperat AN und AUS geschaltet werden können. Ich nehme an, ein Vorwiderstand je Reihe ist angebracht.

Mit dem Vorwiderstandsrechner vom EL-KO komme ich auf 1Ohm / 1Watt.

Meine Fragen:
-Denke ich richtig und werden die LED's überleben?
-LED's sollen dimmbar sein. Wenn ich eine DrehWiderstand einsetze, wäre das dann auch in Ordnung?
-Gibt es Alternativen? (Verlustleistung geringer)
