Farbwechselleuchtdiode an Trafo vs. normale LED (Elektronik)

Also muss ich nur auf die richtige Spannung an der LED achten?
Mein Problem ist nämlich der Trafo. Laut aufschrifft hat er 6V. Also müsste doch ein 220 Ohm Widerstand für die Diode reichen oder (FLED: 3,3V; 20mA)? Gemessen habe ich aber 9V und wenn ich nun eine weiße LED mit 140 Ohm Widerstand schalte hat er nur 6V bei 20mA Strom.
Gemessen immer am Gesamtkreis (also Netzteil).
