RS232 & Hyperterminal (Computertechnik)

Kann es sein, dass da auf dem Mainboard was kaputt ist? Vielleicht diese SMD-MAX232? In einem von den hier von Euch hier reingeposteten links, da habe ich gelesen, dass das eigentlich nicht möglich wäre, jedoch schon vorgekommen sei...

Also, wenn möglicherweise kapott, kann ich dann nach einer PCI-Karte trachten, die einen RS232 - Anschluss hat?
