Externes HDD auf FAT32 total lahm (Computertechnik)

Hat jemand von Euch eine Erklärung für folgendes Phänomen?
Ich habe ein externes Festplattengehäuse gekauft für SATA und IDE-Platten (3,5";), USB 2.0. Momentan ist eine Samsung HD642JJ verbaut (600 GB, SATA).

NTFS-Partitionen werden schön schnell beschrieben, ca. 20...30 MB/s, aber bei FAT32 ist tote Hose (ca. 2...4 MB/s, schwankend).

An der Festplatte kann's doch nicht liegen, oder? Taugt dieser USB-HDD-Controller nix? Ist das bei anderen auch so? Ich habe mehrmals die Festplatte komplett gelöscht, neu partitioniert und formatiert, große und kleine Partitionen probiert - ändert nix.

NTFS kann ich leider nicht nutzen, da mein HD-Receiver nur FAT32 unterstützt und dann ruckelt's leider, weil die Festplatte bei der Aufnahme mit dem Schreiben nicht hinterherkommt. Receiver-Update brachte leider auch keine NTFS-Unterstützung.
